Mont-deMarsan. Leader in the French and
international labor movements.
Gensous, a metalworker, has been a member of the French Communist Party
since 1945. In 1954 he was elected the
secretary of the National Federation of Metalworkers of the French General
Confederation of Labor. From 1959 to
1962 he was the chairman of the International Trade Union of Workers in
Metallurgy and Machine-building, and in 1964 he became its secretary-general. From 1965 to 1969, Gensous was the deputy to
the secretary-general of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU). At the Seventh World Congress of Trade Unions
